EDGE MAPPING is a Romanian collective of visual artists who transform spaces, images, and stages into immersive experiences by combining art and technology. Formed by Andrei Cozlac, Silviu Apostol, Marian Mihai, Radu Marțin, Andrei Botnaru, and Cătălin Marinescu, the group develops projects in architectural video mapping, interactive installations, generative art, 3D modeling, live visuals, digital scenography, and visual productions for cinema.
Their projections have animated landmark buildings such as the Palace of Culture in Iași, the Brukenthal Palace, and the Romanian National Opera in Timișoara. The collective is also active in cinema, contributing to large-scale productions, films, and music videos, where they integrate contemporary visual languages, animation, digital effects, and multimedia concepts.
EDGE MAPPING has exhibited and performed at Romanian Creative Week, the Blue Biennale, the Senzoria Festival, NOVA, as well as in Berlin, Paris, and Budapest. In 2018, Andrei Cozlac and Silviu Luda won the international video mapping competition Light Up in Iași. Andrei Cozlac is the winner of the UNITER Awards for video mapping in theatre, in 2020 and 2022, as well as the Cultural Merit distinction, awarded in 2022.In the field of cinema, Andrei Botnaru, as director of photography, won the award for Best Sci-Fi Film in 2025 with The Uncertainty Principle, directed by Sebastian Bădărău. At the same time, Andrei Botnaru is the first Romanian professional certified in Dolby Vision. In 2024, Radu Marțin was nominated at the UNITER Awards for Best Video Design. In the same year, Cătălin Marinescu won the New Media District Jury Award for Best Work, a distinction also received in 2025 by Marian Mihai.
EDGE MAPPING is recognized for its creative integration of technology into theatre performances, concerts, urban interventions, film productions, and video projects. Each member brings an individual artistic practice, ranging from 3D animation and interactive programming to live video mixing, digital scenography, video design, and visual production for film.
